Support sustainability through urban gardening

Supporting individuals and families seeking a healthier and sustainable lifestyle by promoting urban gardening in a food insecure culture.  That’s why our volunteers work hard to develop and maintain social relationships with the community.

The Village Tree is an organization that seeks to empower communities through strengthening individuals and families, by means of utilizing the mind, body, and soul concept, while providing everyone with information and tools from local resources to assist them in self-sufficiency and sustainability.

Our Campaign for 2019 will make a major impact on the lives of many low-income families in the Delaware, and Pennsylvania area. “Our goal is to provide health and wellness education and use sustainable resources for urban farming/gardening.”

Preparing for the Spring start our Urban Gardening projects

We are looking to partner with local urban gardening projects in the local area.

We promote healthy living ideas by initiating Health Food in the Hood with the help of local residents taking part in the urban gardening project.

Our goal is to create an inter-generational setting with the concentration on enhancing creative skills, pride, and positive leisure experiences for families.

We are looking for volunteers to help us build flowerbeds, transferring soil and materials, and creating a functional garden for the West End community to benefit from.  I apologize for such late notice, however time is of an essence.  We would like the garden to be ready for planting produce by the beginning of June.  If you know of anyone interested in volunteering their time or completing community service hours, we would be more than happy to meet with them and put them to work.
